Generous customers and staff at a Clacton store are helping to keep the Essex Air Ambulance flying high.
They have raised so much money for the effort that extra buckets have been flown in for the Co-op Fiveways site in Bull Hill Road.
So far more than £1,400 has been collected at the store and petrol station for the life-saving organisation.
First warehouseman Peter Reeve ran the London Marathon, his 26th marathon, and then filling station staff, Pauline Rogers, Barbara Payne and May Harding got their hands soapy and raised over £200 by washing windscreens as their customers filled up with fuel.
According to Mrs Rogers the response from customers has been so overwhelming, they've had to order two more collection buckets because the ones in the shop are full to the brim.
She has a particular reason for supporting the fundraiser as an ambulance was launched to help her husband four years ago.
"They do an absolutely marvellous job and we wanted to do everything we can to help raise much-needed funds," said Mrs Rogers.
