A former Colchester United youth team player has admitted drink-driving after a reunion with his old team-mates.
Ben Reece joined his friends for a football-watching reunion in Colchester last Saturday and later decided to drive home to Galleywood, near Chelmsford, a court heard.
Reece, 27, of Well Lane, admitted driving with excess alcohol when he appeared before Chelmsford magistrates yesterday.
He was disqualified for 20 months, fined £300 and ordered to pay £35 towards the prosecution costs.
