A hair colour specialist has left behind the bright lights of Hollywood to join the staff of John Antony Haircutters in Colchester.

Charmaine Piche, 33, of Station Road, Tollesbury, worked for Vidal Sassoon for 13 years including three years as head of department of the company's salon in Beverly Hills, where she was in charge of the accelerated training of staff.

Charmaine's colouring and highlighting expertise was requested by many famous celebrities, such as Nicole Kidman, Heather Lockyer, Minnie Driver, Baywatch star Carmen Electra and rock stars The Red Hot Chilli Peppers.

Before living the high life in LA, Charmaine was head of department at the Vidal Sassoon Advanced Academy in London, and also worked in other London branches of the company. Her UK clients have ranged from Mel B of the Spice Girls to temperamental chef Gordon Ramsay.

Born in Tollesbury where her father, renowned sculptor Roland Piche, still lives and works, Charmaine decided to leave her wealthy lifestyle in LA to return home and start a family with her partner Billy. They live in the village with their two children.
