A teenager has been jailed for four-and-a-half years after pleading guilty to killing two of his friends - one of who was a relative of comedian Joe Pasquale - in a car crash last year.
The 17-year-old boy, who cannot be named for legal reasons, appeared at Basildon Crown Court yesterdayafter pleading guilty to causing the deaths of 14-year-old Adam Palmer, of North Road, Purfleet, and 15-year-old Paul Pasquale, of Hillcrest Avenue, West Thurrock.
He was charged with dangerous driving and aggravated vehicle taking without consent, and was sentenced for four-and-a-half years for each death to run concurrently.
The crash happened in the early hours of October 18, 2003, when the stolen Ford Fiesta they were travelling in collided with a lamppost in South Ockendon.
