Just what the doctor ordered! Health bosses have been heading off to Italy to recruit the doctors needed to solve the shortage of GPs in Tendring.
And they are now in a position to offer seven or eight prospective candidates a post in the district.
The new recruits have undergone rigorous checks and have been tested on their grasp of the English language.
They had to take part in mock consultation exercises and bosses at Tendring Primary Care Trust (PCT), which will employ them, are delighted with the result.
"It's just what the doctor ordered - we had some excellent candidates," said chief executive Paul Unsworth.
"We interviewed ten on Saturday and we will be in a position to offer seven or eight of them jobs in Tendring."
