Joe Royle felt his Ipswich Town side lacked 'rhythm or togetherness' in the first half of their 1-0 success against Leeds.

But he thought they did enough to finish worthy winners in the second period and said: "We got better and better.

"The first half, from our point of view, was a non-event and I can only remember one half-chance, which just isn't us.

"Leeds came here with a game plan and operated with five in midfield and two of them are centre-halves.

"They made it very hard for us but we improved and I thought we just about did enough to win the game.

"We certainly passed the ball better and, once again, looked very tight defensively.

"That was our third clean sheet in four games and if we can keep that form up we'll do very well this season, because it's not often we fail to score."
