West Ham's Hayden Mullins believes referee Paul Armstrong should look again at the incident which saw him sent off during the 1-0 win over Brighton.
The game was in the closing stages when Mullins was chopped down by Seagulls's striker Adam Virgo.
But the Hammers full-back sprang to his feet and remonstrated with his opponent, sparking a melee which ended with the Berkshire official dismissing both players.
"The referee said he sent me off for throwing punches but I didn't do that," said Mullins.
"I felt I took a bad tackle and I reacted - maybe I shouldn't have."
