Southend are under strict orders to tighten up in defence before they travel to Old Patesians tomorrow.
Back-to-back wins had lifted the Seasiders away from the foot of the National Division Three South table, but they were brought crashing back down to earth by leaders Lydney last week.
The Gloucestershire outfit took advantage of early sloppy defending to punish their hosts 28-14 at Warner's Bridge.
And Southend's director of rugby, Kevin Harman, has called for a far more stubborn display from his men at Cheltenham-based Old Patesians.
"It is a difficult place to play because of the steep slope on the pitch," he said.
"Only the other week, Barking, who are flying at the top of the table, came unstuck there and we have to be aware of that
"But it is a game we are convinced we can win, as long as we play with discipline and defend better than we did against Lydney right from the start of the match."
