A war veteran represented his legion with honour at the annual Remembrance Day service at London's Royal Albert Hall.
Bob Kirk, standard-bearer for the Harwich and District branch of the Royal British Legion, appeared at Saturday's service and gave a perfect show.
The 79-year-old was watched by his wife Gwen and his daughter and joined in the capital by a group which went to support him.
Kate Wilson, a committee member of the legion, said: "He thoroughly enjoyed it and thought of it as a great honour he looks the part and has been an outstanding standard-bearer."
Mr Kirk joined the navy as a 15-year-old and served in the Atlantic and in North Africa in his naval career.
