Darren Day's mum says she knows nothing about the alleged antics of her "love rat" son.
Anne Thorpe is completely in the dark over claims the former Colchester schoolboy has cheated on his pregnant girlfriend Suzanne Shaw.
The first time Mrs Thorpe knew anything about the reported secret romps of her singing star son was when she read about it in a national newspaper.
She told the Gazette: "I only know what I read in the paper, which I happen to read and get delivered.
"But when I read it, you could have knocked me down with a feather. I don't know what to believe, that's the honest truth."
Darren, a former pupil of Sir Charles Lucas School, Greenstead, began dating Suzanne about 18 months ago.
Suzanne is a former member of pop band Hear'say. The Sunday Mirror claims Darren has been cheating on the 22-year-old with model Cecilia Carneby.
