John White has one aim for the weekend - to see his name on the Colchester United teamsheet at 3pm on Saturday.
Man on a mission - John White (centre) is hoping to keep his place in the U's side for Saturday's clash with Huddersfield.
The 18-year-old defender was a late addition to the U's back line for their crucial FA Cup first-round tie at Mansfield. And he won praise from fans and his own management team alike for his battling performance.
"I was delighted to be playing on Saturday," said White.
"It is something I have dreamed of all my life. It really was a boyhood dream to be playing in the FA Cup and to be doing it for the team I have supported was fantastic."
He added: "I love the challenge and it's all a learning curve for me.
"It just shows what you can do if you work hard and show dedication to what you are doing."
