A motorist had a lucky escape when the car she was driving was hit by a paintball pellet fired from another vehicle.
The incident happened in Colchester Road, St Osyth.
Acting Insp Pete Gerrard, of Clacton police, said the paintball pellet hit the woman's car windscreen. He said her car ended up on the grass verge by the side of the road.
"This type of behaviour is inappropriate and the consequences could have been a lot worse. The victim was shaken, but luckily on this occasion not injured," he said.
It happened on Saturday at 8.30pm. Anyone with information is asked to contact Clacton police on 01255 221312 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111
