A pensioner injured after she was knocked off her bike has thanked the people who came to her aid.
Recovering - Sheila Rusby broke her elbow
Sheila Rusby, 65, was cycling in Jaywick when a man running bumped into her. She was left lying in the middle of the road.
Suffering from a broken elbow and tangled up in her bike on the junction of Flowers Way and Meadow Way, Mrs Rusby said she was helpless and in pain.
But seconds later two thoughtful people came to help her.
Mrs Rusby, of Flowers Way, said: "I thought 'whatever am I going to do?' and then my heroes came along.
"A taxi driver blocked the road to stop the traffic and called an ambulance, and another woman, who was a carer or nurse, came and checked me over."
"I can't get over the way they were so caring to help me. I want to thank them," she added.
