Mindless and dangerous vandalism at a social housing property has been condemned by police.
Metal fence tops were ripped off railings and thrown through the window of a couple living at the Colne Housing owned Edmund House, in Hillary Close, Heybridge.
Another of the metal fence tops was thrown at one of the residents when they looked out of the living room window to see what had happened.
Ray Canham, supported housing manager at Colne Housing, said: "I am appalled at this criminal act. It was mindless and dangerous and was very intimidating for the victims involved."
PC David Underwood said: "The residents of Edmund House are a very special part of the community and this is a shameful crime. I call on the parents of youths who are regularly walking the streets in hoodies to be aware of this and similar crimes in Heybridge; steps will be taken to curb this activity."
