A Leigh School is closed while gas repairs are being carried out.
Gas transporter Transco was called in to Darlinghurst Primary School on Monday night after a problem with one of the pipes was detected.
Engineers turned off the meter to be on the safe side and the school was closed yesterday and will be closed again today while repairs take place.
A spokesman for Transco said a 3in pipe delivering the gas supply needs to be relaid and on Wednesday a specialist welder will be at the school to do the work.
The gas supply is expected to be restored by Thursday morning.
