The victim of a vicious nightclub assault has appealed for witnesses to help police catch his attacker.
Ryan Wagstaff, 21, of Rubens Close, Shoebury, was working part time as a barman at Zinc nightclub, in Lucy Road, Southend, when a clubber suddenly rained down punches on his face during a frenzied and unprovoked attack.
The beating left him with a broken jaw which had to be operated on twice. The young man now has a scar and no feeling down the right side of his face.
Mr Wagstaff was on a rest break when he noticed a man he had never seen before staring at him in the club.
He has not been able to return to his full-time job as a telephone operator at Lloyds TSB since the attack happened at 1.25am, on Sunday October 17.
He said: "I hope he (the attacker) will get caught. I don't like the fact someone will get away with doing that."
PC Mike Calverts, of Southend Police, appealed for witnesses to contact him and help identify the attacker.
He said: "We haven't had anyone come forward and there was nothing on CCTV. The attacker was a white male, aged 25 to 30 and 5ft 10ins tall. He was wearing a black T-shirt and blue jeans."
Anyone with information should contact PC Calverts on 01702 431212 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
