A resident whose estuary view would be marred by a supercasino complex has called for the plan to be scrapped.
Michael Wright, 34, who lives in Westcliff Parade, above Western Esplanade, is concerned about proposals for a supercasino complex on the seafront.
The scheme to expand Westcliff Casino would boast a 100-metre high viewing platform to rival the Blackpool Tower.
More controversially, it includes three blocks of flats on the shore side of Western Esplanade plus a hotel, large conference centre and greatly extended casino facilities.
Mr Wright said: "The council would be selling off a huge part of the Western Esplanade beach and foreshore which has been enjoyed by generations of residents and tourists.
"The existing casino is a massive building in itself but judging by the artist's impressions, it would be completely dwarfed by the new constructions."
