Southend United centre back Spencer Prior confirmed today he was struggling to be fit for Saturday's match at promotion rivals Yeovil Town.
The experienced defender picked up a knee injury during Friday's 3-0 FA Cup defeat against Luton Town and believes the problem could well force him to sit out the Shrimpers' visit to Huish Park.
"It was about five minutes into the game when I went in for a block tackle with Steve Howard that I hurt my knee," explained Prior.
"I managed to carry on for as long as possible, but in the end I had to come off because it was just too painful.
"It's getting a bit better now, but it's still quite sore and I would say I was struggling to be fit for the Yeovil game."
* Blues midfielder Jay Smith has been ruled out for the rest of the season with a ruptured Achilles.
