A brace from striker James Lawson secured a young Shrimpers reserve side a well deserved 2-2 draw against Crawley Town at Roots Hall yesterday afternoon.
The 17-year-old, from Basildon, banged home an effort in each half and was delighted to have worked his way onto the score-sheet.
"I was very pleased to get the goals," said the impressive Lawson.
"I was in the right place at the right time to score them both but I thought we should have won the game.
"We had some good chances and played quite well but we let in some silly goals and that cost us."
