Residents have won their fight to stop a new house being built in the former garden of their village pub.
Plans were put forward to knock down a brick store shed next to the Maybush Inn at Great Oakley and build a three-bedroom detached home on the site.
Tendring Council received 13 letters of objection to the scheme, as well as a petition signed by 32 people. And at a planning meeting they voted 14 to nil to put a halt to the application.
