The incident happened shortly before 10am yesterday in Kelvedon Road, Coggeshall, near to Grange Farm.
A paramedic manager was first on the scene after the call to the ambulance service. Jim Wright, operations manager, said: "Fortunately, the 23-year-old Coggeshall woman had both her children strapped into their car seats.
"The three-year-old girl and eleven-month-old boy were uninjured but clearly shocked by what happened.
