Southend United striker Lawrie Dudfield admitted today he did not regret turning down a switch to Yeovil Town last season.

The forward rejected a move to the Glovers in favour of a permanent transfer to Roots Hall in March.

And, on the eve of facing Gary Johnson's men at Huish Park tomorrow, Dudfield confirmed he had definitely made the right decision.

"I went down there to talk to them before signing for Southend," admitted the 24-year-old.

"They are a good club and a good team, with a very professional set up but I'm really happy at Blues.

"It wasn't just for footballing reasons that I came here either, my girlfriend is pregnant and Yeovil is further away from our home.

"I don't believe in looking back anyway and I'm just concentrating on doing my best for Southend."
