Motorists could be suffering unnecessary additional pain after leaving a dental surgery.
Hitting a raw nerve - unclear parking instructions are affecting motorists in Newland St
Vehicle owners are receiving parking tickets from traffic wardens - although they are parking in the correct area.
A parking bay outside Newlands Dental Surgery, in Newland Street, Witham, has recently had its priorities altered.
Instead of the entire bay being for limited one-hour parking by motorists, Essex County Council in partnership with Braintree Council changed a 20-metre section to residents only. But the remainder of the bay is still available for public use, provided vehicles are not left for more than 60 minutes.
Rachel Bowman, of Newlands Dental Surgery, said: "I've already seen four people get tickets this week."
A spokesman for Braintree Council, which employs the parking enforcement officers, said: "If anyone feels the ticket they received was unjustified, they can appeal. Each appeal will be judged and dealt with individually."
