Danny Hunt knows he is one step away from a British title fight as he gears up to defend his English lightweight crown.
The Leigh boxer has already successfully defended his title once and will be out to end the hopes of challenger Lee Meager at Bethnal Green's York Hall tonight.
Mancunian Meager is also anxious to get a crack at the British belt and Hunt knows it will be a tough match.
"I met Meagre at the press conference on Wednesday and he said I was a stepping stone and that he was going to beat me," said 23-year-old Hunt.
"I countered that and said I hope he fought as good as he talked.
"But he was quite respectful and we shook hands - the feeling was mutual.
"You cannot underestimate anyone, you have just got to go in there and do your best."
