Colchester's Paralympic star Natalie Jones has yet more reason to celebrate after being crowned young female sports person of the year by the Sunday Times.
The swimming ace picked up her award at a glittering ceremony last night.
It comes at the end of a fantastic year for Jones, who is a member of Colchester Phoenix Swimming Club, as she won two gold medals at this year's Paralympic Games in Athens.
Delighted Phoenix manager Maggie Hargreaves told the Gazette: "Everyone at the club is so proud of Natalie.
"I've known her for years so this award, coming so soon after her medal success, makes me very proud. It's a great honour for everyone connected with Colchester Phoenix Swimming Club."
