Eight Colchester athletes represented Essex in the Inter Counties Cross-Country Championships at Stowe, Buckinghamshire.
And all of them performed brilliantly. Essex dominated the team events and, out of eight races, they won five gold, two silver and a bronze medal.
Essex women's team manager John Hyland said: "This was one of the best results Essex have had in the South of England Inter County Championships.
"And much of that is down to the athletes' hard work, guided by the dedicated coaches in the county and the support of their parents."
