The commitment of a customer adviser at a Chelmsford store has won him a home makeover worth thousands of pounds.
Richard Rankin, 31, who works at B&Q warehouse at Homelands Retail Park, Chelmsford, has been crowned the divisional winner of the Big B&Q Thank You award - part of B&Q's annual employee awards.
Mr Rankin, who said he was gobsmacked to receive the award, which will make it a great Christmas for him, was presented with his prize of a £5,000 makeover by TV celebrity Anna Ryder-Richardson at a ceremony in Southampton.
The award celebrates team members who consistently go above and beyond the call of duty.
