The property in Lymington Avenue, Clacton, which was unoccupied and is in the process of being sold, was badly damaged and engineers were called out to deal with a gas leak.
PC Paul Barry, of Stanway road traffic policing unit, said the accident, just after 11am yesterday, was being investigated.
"It appears the man lost control of his vehicle, went over a number of gardens and struck the bungalow," he said.
