Colchester United have bolstered their attack with the signing of Guylain Ndumbu-Nsungu.

Set for U's debut? Guylain Ndumbu-Nsungu

The Congolese striker has struck a deal with the U's that will keep him at the club for a month.

The former Sheffield Wednesday striker, 22, became available after he was cut out of Paul Sturrock's plans at Hillsborough. In total he made 44 appearances for the Owls, scoring 11 goals along the way.

However, only four of them have come under new manager Sturrock and he had his contract cancelled by mutual agreement earlier this week.

The forward, who was voted player-of-the-year last season by the Wednesday faithful, played on the left wing as well as in a more attacking role behind the front two under former Owls chief Chris Turner.

If everything goes to plan, he should make his Layer Road debut tomorrow against Coca-Cola League One leaders Luton Town.
