There were mixed fortunes for Essex duo Ali Carter and Mark King at the Welsh Open in Newport.
Tiptree's Carter having beaten world number two Mark Williams in the previous round lost 5-2 against home favourite Ryan Day.
Day now plays Great Notley's Mark King, who yesterday thrashed John Parrott 5-1.
