Plans for a sports centre refurbishment costing £370,000 have been agreed in principle.
Braintree Council's Witham Area Committee agreed on Tuesday night to support a range of improvements planned by DC Leisure which runs Bramston Sports Centre in Witham.
The plans include revamping the reception area, renovating changing rooms, developing a dedicated sauna and steam area, and improving sunbed facilities and physiotherapy rooms.
Peter Cook, DC Leisure manager, said that he hoped to take the plans to his board for final approval on February 25, so that work could start on April 1, ready for completion by the end of May.
