A Braintree man has been arrested after a 16-year old boy was stabbed in the chest.

The incident happened on Monday at about 10.30pm in Bradwell-on-Sea. An ambulance was called to the scene where the teenager was found with a stab wound to his chest. He was taken to Broomfield Hospital where he was treated for the injury.

A 19-year-old man from Braintree was arrested by police on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm.

He has been released on bail until February 14 for further inquiries.
