A quick-thinking firefighter was called into action when a woman gave birth in a car on the station forecourt.
Our hero - Lorraine and Allan King with baby Thomas, son George and firefighter Amy Gilson, who helped her give birth. (43473-a)
Pregnant Lorraine King was on her way to hospital with her husband Allan when she realised the baby was minutes from coming out.
So they made an emergency stop at the nearby fire station hoping for help.
Mr King said: "My wife kept saying she wanted to push. There was going to be no help after the fire station, and it was my first and last option."
Firefighter Amy Gilson, 23 - who is expecting her first child in February - sprung into action and got in the driver's seat to try and calm the pregnant passenger and Essex Ambulance Service was called.
Mrs Gilson, of Spencer Square, Bocking, said: "The lady was having contractions and said she was in a lot of back pain and I took that to mean she was in labour.
