A recycling roadshow has hit the streets of Castle Point.
The borough's recycling team gave out information on cloth nappies and various methods of recycling at Sainsbury's at Rayleigh Weir, as part of the Anglia Region Waste Awareness Campaign.
On average, a child goes through 5,000 disposable nappies before potty training, which end up in landfill sites taking hundreds of years to degrade. Tim Read, Castle Point's waste promotions officer, said: "We have had a steady stream of people visiting our stand to find out more about recycling.
"Even if just a small proportion take up recycling or do a little more, it will have a big impact on Castle Point."
The recycling team will move onto the Knightswick shopping centre, Canvey, next Wednesday for Big Recycle Week.
