Ipswich Town boss Joe Royle has today confirmed his interest in bringing Swindon Town striker Sam Parkin to the club.
If he does complete a move to Suffolk, he could be joined by Reading hitman Nicky Forster, who is believed to be close to agreeing a two-year deal with the Blues.
With the departure of several familiar faces from Portman Road already this summer, Royle is keen to add to his side's firepower before the 2005/06 kicks-off in August.
He has been promised cash to spend out the £1.25 million proceeds from the sale of goalkeeper Kelvin Davis to Sunderland.
Parkin, 24, netted 23 goals for Swindon last season as the Robins finished 12th in League One, taking his overall tally for the County Ground club to 67 in 124 League games.
"We are interested in Sam and have been talking to Swindon about his availability," said Royle.
