WAYNE Candy made it two wins in a row when he took top weight at the second leg of the Wickford Angling Centre Colmic Northlands Park Evening Series.

Candy, who won last week's three hour event with a stunning 34lb 6oz 8dr catch, maintained his lead winning the latest meeting with a 27lb 6oz haul of quality fish.

Pegged on the Basildon venue's concrete slipway, Candy fished a pole to land numerous tench and skimmer bream.

Second place went to fellow Wickford Angling Centre squad member Peter Steward with 22lb 5oz 8dr of tench and bream.

He took his catch from the cafe lake, fishing a feeder and pellet baits. Steward's best specimen, a tench of 5lb 1oz 8dr, was the biggest fish taken in the series so far.

Winklepickers man Mick Nowicki took third place with 17lb 14oz, and provided much amusement when he fell in!
