Basildon Council's newest committee will meet for the first time tonight. The Development and Environment Scrutiny Committee, made up of five councillors, will meet every three months to discuss the council's approach to planning and the environment.
The committee, which will discuss issues including street care, recycling and the building of new homes, will be chaired by Conservative Billericay East councillor, Stuart Sullivan.
The committee's other members are Pitsea South East ward Tory councillor Stewart Geddes as vice-chairman, Langdon Hills ward Tory councillor Sandra Hillier, St Martin's ward Labour councillor Colin Payn and Netermayne ward Lib Dem councillor Ben Williams.
The committee meets at 7.30pm tonight.
