SHOPPERS with a sweet tooth can show their support for Colchester’s soldiers.
Help for Heroes is holding a colossal cake sale in Lion Walk Shopping Centre on Saturday, with homemade cakes, scones and biscuits on sale to raise funds.
Mayor Henry Spyvee, backed by the Town Watch and Colchester and District Pipes and Drums, will officially open the sale at 11am.
A similar event last year raised £5,640 for the charity, which is raising money to build a specialist recovery centre for wounded troops at the town’s garrison.
