POLICE stopped a van on the A12 and found £35,000 worth of cannabis inside.
A court was told Danny Black’s van had been stopped near Colchester for other matters and he was asked if he had anything in the back.
When they looked inside, officers found 92 bars of cannabis resin, weighing 21 kilos, in a cardboard box.
Another eight and a half kilos of herbal cannabis and four bars of cannabis resin were found when police searched Black’s home, in Kingfisher Close, Colchester.
Black, 32, admitted three charges of possessing drugs with intent to supply when he appeared at Chelmsford Crown Court and was jailed for a total of 21 months.
David Elliott, mitgating, said Black only had the drugs for a short time and was looking after them for someone else.
