AS an actor, dancer, singer and television presenter, John Barrowman has become one of the UK’s most recognisable celebrities.

But his new stage show will be all about the music, as John, 43 on Thursday, will be performing tracks from his self-titled album, which was released last week.

The album is said to be Barrowman’s most personal to date, and like his previous two releases, Another Side and Music Music Music, is a journey through his passion for musical theatre.

It features 14 tracks from shows, including Cats, Mamma Mia!, Jersey Boys, and Mack and Mabel.

It also features a duet with Jodie Prenger, on So Close, taken from the recent Disney movie, Enchanted.

Those unfamiliar with John’s singing will almost certainly know his acting. He is Captain Jack Harkness in the BBC sci-fi shows, Torchwood and Doctor Who.

John has also appeared as a judge on the BBC talent shows, How Do You Solve A Problem Like Maria?, Any Dream Will Do and I’d Do Anything, and has hosted his own BBC entertainment programme, Tonight’s the Night.

He also recently announced he has accepted a role in the American TV comedy-drama series, Desperate Housewives.

Barrowman will be appearing at the Regent Theatre, in St Helen’s Street, Ipswich, on Sunday, October 10. Doors open at 7.30pm.

Tickets start at £19.50, with a £3.50 booking fee on all transactions, except cash purchases.
