MANY film award winners may be heard to thank God at some point during their acceptance speech, but one Colchester film-maker owes the Almighty more than a passing debt.

Animation company, taylormation, has just won the 2010 gold award for best Christian Children’s Programme from the Christian Broadcast Council.

The company won the prize for its DVD, the Parables – six animated short films based on stories from the Bible.

It beat competition from the BBC, Christian TV channels and independent production companies.

Taylormation founder Jon Taylor said: “It’s an honour to stand alongside so many talented people. A lot of people have given their time and talent to help make this project a success and I’m so pleased that effort has been recognised. Producing the Parables has been a long and difficult process, but also one of the best experiences of my life.”

Taylormation produces direct-to-DVD products for schools, churches and families.
