Bright – councillors Lyn Barton and Paul Smith look at the public art at Fortuna Park
EYE-CATCHING pillars that formed part of a new housing development have been recognised in regional awards.
The Bricole di Venezia at Fortuna Park, off Layer Road, Colchester, is a series of mooring posts for gondolas inspired by Venice’s Grand canal.
The project, overseen by Colchester Council and funded by developers Countryside Properties and Annington Developments, has been shortlisted for an Arts and Business East award.
An awards ceremony in Cambridge next month will reveal whether it has won the Cambridge University Press A&B Community Award.
