I write regarding the age-old problem of dogs’ mess on the streets of Harwich.

Is there a reason why dog walkers in Bathside refuse to clean up after their pets?

One of the worst areas is near the railway bridge, where there is a bin for that exact purpose.

I am fed up with irresponsible dog owners who continue to leave our paths in such a state.

When I did ask one such person to clean up after their dog, which had fouled the path near my front door, I was sworn at and told to mind my business.

What is the point of the council saying there will be fines for such offences when they are never implemented, as the offenders are never caught?

The same goes for the large number of flytippers who continue to fill the Bathside area with their junk.

In both cases, I’m unsure if these people live here, or is our area just seen by others as a convenient dumping ground? Either way, please stop being so selfish and lazy.
