FOUR trains were cancelled on the Manningtree and Harwich line yesterday – two days after it reopened following a repairs to a landslip.

The line closed in October after the track was moved by a landslide near Wrabness. It reopened on Tuesday, but yesterday commuters were forced on to replacement buses between 6pm and 7pm because of train cancellations.

Network Rail spokesman Russell Spink said: “The trains were cancelled because we still have only one line open to passenger traffic and certain freight trains have to go at an exact time. It will be happening again on Friday, although services will be back to normal on Monday.”
