YOU can have your funny bone tickled tonight, as the Comedy Club comes to Colchester.

The monthly event, at the Weston Homes Community Stadium, will feature MC Kevin McCarthy, known as the “Ad Lib Expert”, Steve Gribbin and headliner Colin Cole.

McCarthy has compered and headlined at major comedy clubs across the UK, and his ever-changing act, ability to find humour in any subject, and relaxed attitude on stage, makes him a sure-fire hit.

Gribbin performed at festivals in the early 1990s and has starred on television shows, including Saturday Live, and radio programmes, such as the Mary Whitehouse Experience.

With his comedy partner, Brian Mulligan, the duo, known as Skint Video, had their own show on Radio 1, called Songlines.

Now working alone, Gribbin’s opening act will combine music, songs, razor-sharp lyrics with annoyingly catchy tunes and, of course, devastating humour.

Headline act Cole has been praised for “mesmerising” his audience.

The Aussie has a long list of credits on TV shows in his homeland, including Hey Hey, the Max Gillies Show and Bingles.

Already popular in America and Canada, he is known for his sharp one-liners and cuddly personality. Now he wants to conquer Britain, too.

Tickets cost £10, or £8 for Colchester United members or season ticket holders. Doors open at 7pm and the show starts at 7.45pm.
