THIS impressive-looking guy is due to go up in flames on the bonfire at Colchester’s biggest fireworks display tonight (Thursday).
Judy Alden, who made the guy with husband, Bernard, is pictured with grandson Toby Alden, three when the dummy was unveiled at the Queen Street tourist office.
The Castle Park display, organised by the King Coel’s Kittens fundraising group, attracts almost 10,000 people a year and has raised hundreds of thousands of pounds for charity in the past 40 years.
Gates in Castle Park will open at 6pm with entertainment from magician Michael J Fitch ahead of the guy being put on top of the bonfire at 7pm, the signal for the fireworks to start.
Tickets cost £7 for adults and £4 for children, and must be bought in advance from the tourist office.
