A TELEVISION presenter is leaping out of a plane from 10,000ft after being inspired by the brother of a Colchester-based soldier.

Giles Vickers-Jones is raising money for the charity Caudwell Children, following a national appeal from 16-year-old Adam Yuill, who suffers from Duchenne muscular dystrophy.

His brother, Lance Corporal Ben Yuill, of 2 Para, enlisted colleagues to help collect sponsorship for Adam, who has already completed a jump.

Adam said Ben had inspired him to do it. Model-turned television presenter Giles is set to take part with more than 100 others on Sunday, November 1, in the charity’s national Fear Factor event.

A similar event last year raised £10,000.

Giles, who presents movie review show ITV at the Movies, said: “Hearing how determined Adam was to follow his dreams of doing a skydive, and his passion to raise money for other sick and disabled youngsters was truly inspiring.”

Caudwell Children has provided Adam, from Berkshire, with two powered wheelchairs worth more than £17,000.
