FITNESS fanatics are gearing up for the Harwich Discovery Run.
The charity event, which takes place on October 17, is expected to attract as many as 400 runners from Holland, who will line up against entrants from closer to home.
Participants can enter a 5km fun run, starting at 10.45am, or a 10km run, which sets off at 11.30am.
Entrants for the 10km race must be over 16.
Both runs begin at the Adult Community Learning Centre, in Main Road, Dovercourt, where Harwich mayor Jacky Wares and town crier James Cole will blow the starting whistle.
The finish line is at Dovercourt Cricket Pavilion, off Main Road.
A trophy presentation will take place, in the main hall of the learning centre, at 1pm.
It costs £6 to enter the 10km race if you are part of a running club, or £8 if you are not. The fun run costs £5 to enter.
The closing date for entering before the day is Wednesday.
Entry on the day is possible, from 8.30am until 10.15am, and will cost an additional £1 charge.
Money raised goes to the RNLI, the Harwich Mayoress Appeal and the Clic Sargent cancer charity.
