HAVING performed for royalty, the Scintillo String Quartet will bring their talents to St Mary’s Church, in Wivenhoe, on Saturday.

Hadyn’s popular Sunrise Quartet, Mozart’s the Hunt and Beethoven’s Quartet in C Minor will resound around the venue during the summer’s evening.

Formed in 2006, the quartet members trained at various colleges, including Colchester Institute, Royal Northern College of Music and Trinity College of Music, with further coaching from some leading chamber ensembles, including the Alberni String Quartet, the Bochmann String Quartet, the Primrose Ensemble and the Fibonacci Sequence.

The skilled musicians have performed with the Academy of St Martin’s in the Field, the Comedy Store in Leicester Square, London, on BBC Radio 4 and have played alongside the Bingham String Quartet.

The night promises to be a treat for for fans of classical music.

Doors open at 7pm, for a 7.30pm start. Tickets cost £6 or £4 for concessions on the door or from Wivenhoe Bookshop, 23 High Street, Wivenhoe.
