A DISTRAUGHT mum says she is “desperately worried” about her daughter, who was arrested in South America on suspicion of smuggling cocaine.

Denise Warner’s daughter Julie, 30, was arrested in Guyana, accused of being caught with two grams of liquid cocaine.

She has been on remand since July 27 in squalid, cramped conditions and is due to appear in court next week.

Denise, 49, from Thundersley, said: “She’s sleeping on a tiled floor. All the girls are in one room with two toilets which don’t flush. We’re desperately worried.”
